Sevaa Group is proud to work alongside several Atlanta-based non-profits, like Buckhead Christian Ministry and Atlanta Women’s Foundation, to make their missions more powerful and visible throughout the region and beyond. We partner on everything from full-scale development to web maintenance, and our developers are experienced in creating WordPress websites that make it easy for our non-profit clients to control and implement any plugins they find necessary. In our experience with non-profit businesses, we’ve discovered plugins that work well for the purpose of their website; here are some of our recommendations.
1. Give

Give is a donation plugin and fundraising platform. With Give, the donation process is quick and easy for users, and administrators have a high-level of authority. Administrators can view statistics for specific campaigns, generate tax-deductible receipts, and build customized forms within WordPress or through integration with Gravity Forms.
This plugin streamlines the donation process by presenting users with simple donation forms. It also integrates with third-party processors to ensure that users won’t have to leave your website in order to complete a transaction. Give is priced on a subscription basis and ranges from $15 to $35 a month.
2. OptinMonster

Your website, like many, will prompt users to subscribe to a newsletter. OptinMonster works to increase your sign up conversion rate, starting at the reasonable price of $9 a month.
This plugin offers pre-built or customizable forms and various campaigns including modal forms, floating header and footer bars, slide-ins, sidebar forms and more, all of which are 100% mobile-friendly. With the use of “exit-intent technology,” OptinMonster can even track users’ mouse activity and prompt them with a targeted message as they are about to exit your website.
With the testing and analytics of OptinMonster, users will have no problem subscribing to your newsletter. Often “subscribe” buttons are hidden or interruptive prompts deter users. This plugin optimizes your subscription conversion when and where it matters most on your website, allowing users to continue to learn more about your cause.
3. Gravity Forms

Gravity Forms is priced based on a subscription basis, starting at $59 a year. We’re big proponents of Gravity Forms and for good reasons. Gravity Forms allows administrators to create any form they wish whether it’s a contact form, a survey, or a donation form. And users can pull up and fill out your form on any device.
It seamlessly integrates with a whole host of other plugins as well, including another one of our recommendations: Give. With conditional logic, you can build your form to show or hide specific fields, sections, pages or buttons based on user selections. This way, administrators can control what information the user is prompted to provide. Gravity Forms also offers a set of administrative features including reCaptcha and Akismet plugins to prevent spam form entries.
Other administrative features include:
- Email notifications every time a form is submitted so that you can stay updated on your leads.
- File upload field so that users can upload any important documents or photos.
- If your form is particularly long, users can save and come back to finish later.
- Limit the number of entries a form can receive. (Elite add-on)
- Responsive design that displays properly on any device. (Elite add-on)
4. Simple Calendar

Simple Calendar allows you to display and manage events from any public Google Calendar with a style that’s tailored to your website’s theme. Administrators can use tags to customize event content, combine multiple calendars into a single display, create newsletters, and offer translations. Users can find events and switch between weekly, daily, or monthly views.
Google Calendar is already a familiar app that you probably use routinely, making this plugin really straightforward to use when it comes to showcasing your events on your website.
5. WPML

Giving should be accessible to everyone, and with over 40 starting languages, the WordPress Multilingual plugin makes your website’s content translatable for non-English speaking users. It even includes the ability to add language variants such as Canadian French or Mexican Spanish. Administrators can arrange different language contents in the way they prefer and even quickly employ professional translation services directly through their own site.
Users will be able to engage with and navigate your website without the hindrance of language barriers. For a one-time purchase, this plugin ranges from $29 to $159.
These plugins are great for non-profits, but any website can make use of them.
